Terms and Conditions

1. Reservation and Booking:

  • All reservations are subject to availability.

  • A non-refundable deposit may be required to secure bookings.

  • Booking confirmation is provided upon receipt of payment.

  • Daycare is up to 12 hours, and Boarding is up to 24 hours past that. After that, additional hourly or daily fees may occur.


2. Health and Vaccinations:

  • All pets must be in good health, up-to-date on vaccinations, including Rabies and Bordetella, and free from contagious diseases.

  • Suppose the pet has been exposed to any contagious diseases, including but not limited to Kennel Cough, Canine Influenzas, and Giardia. In that case, your reservation will be canceled and refunded until cleared by a veterinarian.

  • Pets showing signs of illness may be isolated, the owner will be notified and the owner must make alternative arrangements for care until pet has been cleared by a veterinarian.

  • All pets 6 months or older must be spayed/neutered. Unaltered pets older than 6 months can board but can not join in group activities such as daycare per state regulations.


3. Behavior and Socialization:

  • Pets must be well-socialized, non-aggressive, and pass a temperament test.

  • We reserve the right to refuse service to pets exhibiting aggressive behavior.

  • Acceptance into daycare or boarding is not guaranteed or unlimited and can be revoked anytime.


4. Requirements

  • All vaccines must be up to date and not expire within 14 days of any booking.

  • Unaltered or intact pets over 6 months may NOT participate in Daycare under state regulation.


5. Emergency Veterinary Care:

  • In the event of illness or injury, we will seek veterinary care for your pet, which may not always be your veterinarian.

  • The owner is responsible for all veterinary expenses for your pet and any injuries your pet may have.


6. Food and Medications:

  • Owners must provide enough food for the duration of the stay, separated individually for each pet, each meal, each day.

  • Medications must be clearly labeled with instructions, the pet's name, the date, and the expiration date. We will not split medications between pets, even if they are on the same medication.


7. Cancellation and Refund:

  • Cancellations must be made within 7 days before the booking starts time frame to qualify for a refund.

  • No-shows or cancellations outside the specified time frame may be subject to fees.


8. Payments:

  • Payment is due in full at the time of booking.

  • Additional charges for extended stays, special services, or incurred expenses may apply.


9. Check-in and Check-out:

Any pet left after 7 PM CT will be switched to boarding and changed to the overnight boarding fees.


10. Security and Access:

  • Owners are responsible for providing keys, access codes, or any necessary information for entry to the property.

  • Keys will be returned as agreed upon before booking is confirmed.

  • Access to the property must be clear and safe at all times. Otherwise, the visit will be canceled, and no refund will be issued.


11. Liability:

  • Dog Star LLC is not liable for injuries, illnesses, or property loss.

  • Owners are responsible for any damage caused by their pet(s).


12. Photography and Media:

Dog Star LLC may use photographs or videos of pet(s) for promotional purposes unless specified otherwise by the owner.


13. Termination of Services:

Dog Star LLC reserves the right to terminate services for any reason, including aggressive behavior or policy non-compliance.


14. Changes to Terms and Conditions:

Dog Star LLC reserves the right to modify these terms and conditions. Clients will be notified of any changes.


15. Governing Law:

These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of Iowa Code 67.1 - 67.18.

Poop Scooping Clients

Assumption of Risk:

By choosing Dog Star's services, you acknowledge the inherent risks associated with pet waste removal. While we take precautions, unforeseen circumstances such as the presence of hazardous materials or hidden objects may arise. You agree to assume these risks and release Dog Star from any liability.


Property Access:

Clients are responsible for providing access to the designated areas for poop scooping. If access is restricted or hindered, Dog Star will not be held responsible for incomplete service. Unless previously agreed to all pet must be kept inside your home while we are on the property, we are not responsible for pets that may escape the yard.


Health and Safety:

Although Dog Star takes measures to maintain a clean and safe work environment, we cannot guarantee the complete absence of bacteria or contaminants. It is recommended that you and your pets avoid treated areas for a reasonable amount of time after our service. We require you to notify us immediately of any illness with your pet such as but not limited giardia, parvo or kennel cough.


Cancellation, Rescheduling and payment:

Cancellations and rescheduling must be 24 hours in advance a valid credit card must be kept on file if payment to the account is not made in 1 week that credit card will be charged if declined a $25 fee will be added to the account which must be paid in full before we begin service again. Automatic payment is optional but recommended these will be charged the 28th of each month.


Liability:

Dog Star will not be held liable for injuries, damages, or losses resulting from the use of our services. This includes, but is not limited to, property damage, pet injuries, or any unforeseen incidents.
